This page outlines the server specifications recommended to properly use FlexCMS.

PHP 4.3.3 - 4.3.9
MySQL version 4.0.15 - 4.0.22 (standard)

The GD package is also required for resizing of images uploaded to the photo gallery, articles, page and block titles, menu links, and through the page editor.  As of FlexCMS 1.3, GIF images may also be resized, provided the required version of GD is installed (it is now bundled with the latest PHP releases).  If the required GD version is not installed, JPEG and PNG images will still be resized correctly, and GIF images may be uploaded, just not resized.

If using Apache, the most recent version is strongly recommended for security reasons.

Recent versions of PHP (at the very least 4.1.0; 4.3.0 or higher recommended) and MySQL (4.x recommended) are also required for bug fixes and features. Any recent releases of the Linux variants or FreeBSD should work just fine.

PHP Note: Depending on the restrictions in place, PHP SafeMode may prevent the package from functioning correctly.

Compatibility with Windows has had only limited testing and has been successful for Win98, Win2k and XP Pro.  Any other platforms are unknown at this point.

Windows Installation Note:  If you have any problems installing FlexCMS on a Windows platform, please reivew our support forum for more information or contact us directly so we can further assist you. 

If you are unsure whether your server or hosting provider will support FlexCMS, we encourage you to try the free version and test it out.  You can easily upgrade to the paid plans at any point without modification to the installation or settings. We would also appreciate any feedback you can provide about your experiences installing and using FlexCMS on anything other than listed above.

Internet Explorer 5.5 or above is strongly recommended for administration. Netscape 6.0+ and Mozilla 1.5+ are mostly compatible with FlexCMS, however some features may be unavailable or not function as expected.
