| August 21, 2007 @ 2:35pm | Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions! I was unaware that the script was supposed to run this way, it just looked wrong to me. I appreciate your explanation, it helped me understand. :D
Since there was no installation error, I'm going to leave it alone so that I don't run into problems with upgrades and mods!
As for the image upload problem, I'll be sending in the information you've requested, thank you again for your help. |

| August 21, 2007 @ 12:16pm | WebWench,
We've seen a number of FlexCMS sites achieve good search engine placement with the stock installation configuration, so I don't know that the presence of the index.php in the URL has a negative impact on SEO. That said, if you're using Apache you can certainly change it to something else. You'll see here we changed ours to "flex", though for display purposes as much as anything else. You can find information about changing it here: http://www.flexcms.com/index.php/forum/4/9.html.
Depending on your server's configuration and your expertise you may be able to eliminate that level all together. The index.php file would still be present, as it controls the whole operation of the site, however it wouldn't be present in the address. You can find some information about this here: http://www.google.ca/search?q=mod+rewrite+index.php. Please note that this has not been tested with FlexCMS and is not something we can offer support for at this time.
Yes, the "pages" level does need to be there. That tells FlexCMS that it's looking for a page with that name, and not a built in function or module.
As for your images upload problem, it's hard to say what that might be without further details. Feel free to send us admin access to your FlexCMS installation and FTP details to .

| Root folder install - all links include "index.php" | August 21, 2007 @ 1:37am | I've installed v2.5, and somehow, all the links include "index.php". I'm worried that my SEO efforts will be affected by this.
You can see what I mean by all the links on my site map, and even in the site map link itself:

Code
http://www.guestbookglitter.com/index.php/pages/sitemap.html |
|
http://www.guestbookglitter.com/index.php/pages/sitemap.html
Before I go any further in developing this site, I'm hoping you can help me fix this so that the link looks something like this instead:

Code
http://www.guestbookglitter.com/pages/sitemap.html |
|
I'd hate to have to start over! Sorry to be a pain! (I'm assuming that there's no way to eliminate the /pages/ directory in these links, is that true?)
Also... I just tried to upload images to a second gallery, and although I'm not getting an error message, I'm not getting an upload confirmation either. I checked the "pg_images" folder, the permissions are set to 777. Help!

How do I use my own logo instead of the FlexCMS logo?
First, you'll need to upload your logo to your web server.
Next go to your Control Panel and under Edit Site Content, select the Menu Blocks link.
Then look for the LOGO block and click on the Edit link.
Scroll down to the Custom Block Contents area and delete all the coding in this area. Then type your logo URL and HTML code (see example below) into the Custom Block Contents.
Example Custom Block Contents:
<img src="http://www.yourdomainname/imagefoldername/yourlogo.gif">
Make sure you UNCHECK the Process PHP Code box located under the Custom Block Contents area.
And finally, click on the "Save Changes" button and you're good to go! |

| August 20, 2007 @ 7:28pm | Thank you, that helped! I'm now trying to figure out how to switch out the logo, all the help files here seem to be for older versions... could you point me in the right direction please?
Thanks, the install went nice and smooth! |

| August 20, 2007 @ 4:44pm | Hi Webwench,
Sorry to hear you are having issues with your installation. It's an automated process and it should find your key automagically.
Have you tried installing it as the Free version? If not, try that and then sync the license key via the control panel. If it doesn't return to Professional License, email us at support@flexcms.com and we'll be happy to send you a license key to use.
Thanks for choosing FlexCMS!
otter
NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU CLICK ON THE BUTTON TO AUTOMAGICALLY FIND YOUR LICENSE KEY.
You'll see the following text during the installation process:
Enter License Key then box to enter that into AND a button next to it says
Attempt To Locate Automatically
You must click the button for this to work. If you have a valid Standard/Pro license, it will find it in our system and set your license appropriately upon installation of FlexCMS. |

I've purchased the Pro version, but cannot install without the License Key. When can I expect that? |

| August 17, 2007 @ 9:26pm | Cris,
I've not heard of any problems with the Products pages before. If you're using the latest version (2.5), I'm not sure there's much I can suggest. Feel free to send us FTP information to and we'll be happy to take a look for you.

| Shopping Cart - Blank Edit Pages | August 17, 2007 @ 8:52am | Hi there.... I'm getting blank pages when trying to edit a product in the shopping cart admin area. The URL structure for the blank edit page result is http://www.stopctsworkshops.com/index.php/admin/store-products_edit/2.html
I can edit anything throughout the flex install but the product pages - it just comes up with a blank page. Any ideas? Thanks much! Cris |
