LICENSE QUESTIONJuly 5, 2006 @ 8:03am
Would it be considered one website and so one license required to create a church website with a home page and then install FLEXCMS again several times on the same domain so that each ministry within the church could have its own homepage linked from the church's homepage?

Regards, Chris

Hi Chris,

In terms of licensing of FlexCMS, in our Software Agreement, we state the following:

FlexCMS is licensed per website, determined by unique internet domain names. Each license may be used for only one domain name, and is limited (both technically and legally) to the domain name it was licensed for.

Each license entitles you to install and use the package on one internet website for the term of the license. If you operate multiple websites or domain names, multiple licenses will be required for installation on those. ..."

In terms of you wanting to let ministries have their own homepage on the church domain, you can simply give those groups permission to create their own pages within the main church site itself and link them to the site via the menu blocks, etc. There is no need to setup a separate installation of FlexCMS for each ministry.

You can also setup permission levels for members to have access to create and/or modify calendar events, etc. all within one FlexCMS installation. This is true for all of our modules.

You may want to browse through our Client Showcase and see how other churches/groups have organized their sites with one installation of FlexCMS.

If you have any other related questions, please post a reply here.

To put what you are saying another way -- only one "menu blocks" page per website per license????
